Data Analysis
A complete learning path from zero to job-ready Data Analyst.
All learning pathsThis is a complete learning path — eleven topics that take you from "I don't know data analysis" to "I can analyze a real business problem and explain it to a manager." Everything is taught from zero, in a deliberate order, with practice after every topic and a mini project to cement each skill.
You do not need a technical background to start. You only need curiosity, a computer, and the discipline to do the practice. Roughly 17–19 weeks at a few hours a day gets you through the whole path and into a portfolio worth showing employers.
How to use this path
Start with the roadmap, then follow the topics in order — each one builds directly on the previous. Pass each topic's chapter quiz (70% or higher) and each phase exam before advancing; re-do a mini project if a topic doesn't stick.
- Basics — the vocabulary and process of analysis
- Excel — organize, clean, look up and pivot data
- SQL — query the databases behind every business
- Statistics — averages that don't lie, and honest comparisons
- Data Cleaning — turn messy exports into trustworthy data
- Power BI — model data and build live dashboards
- Python — scale your analysis with code (pandas)
- EDA — explore data the way professionals do
- Visualization — charts and stories people act on
- Projects — the full analyst lifecycle end to end
- Portfolio & Career — package your work and win the job
Skills you'll build
- Tools: Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python (pandas, NumPy)
- Concepts: statistics, data cleaning, EDA, visualization, storytelling
- Work habits: profiling before analysis, reproducible pipelines, honest numbers, evidence-backed recommendations
What you'll build
- A clean, reproducible data pipeline
- A published, refreshable Power BI dashboard
- A Python-based exploratory analysis notebook
- Diagnostic and experiment-style case studies
- A portfolio of polished, job-ready projects
Who this is for
- Career changers moving into data analysis
- Students building a practical, portfolio-first foundation
- Professionals already using Excel or BI who want the full analyst skill set
No experience required. If you can use a spreadsheet and a browser, you are ready for Topic 1.
Learning philosophy
Four rules keep the path effective. Practice over watching — every topic ships a hands-on task; do it. Questions over tools — you learn tools to answer questions, not the other way around. Honest numbers — every conclusion comes with evidence, effect size and a "what I don't know" line. Foundations before fancy — master the plain bar chart, the clean join and the honest average before adding complexity. Follow those rules and the path ends with a working portfolio, not just notes.
